The Profession of Arms Center of Excellence will release Air Force Handbook 1, Airman, Oct 2015 which replaces the Professional Development Guide, and will provide enlisted Airmen information needed for promotion testing.

Individual study guides, developed from the information within the handbook, are available for immediate download via http://pdg.af.mil/. These guides aid those Airmen testing for promotion in the Dec 2015 testing cycle.

These study guides supersede and replace the 2013 AFPAM 36-2241, Professional Development Guide, to support the enlisted promotion system.

Each grade has a .pdf and e-reader file for download and use on any mobile device to prepare for the United States Air Force Supervisory Exam or Promotion Fitness Exam.

Also available is the Military Knowledge and Testing System chart. The chart is available as attachment 1 of individual study guides and used to determine information required for promotion testing. The chart helps determine the importance of each section of information for testing to each grade.

The Airman Handbook is a compilation of policies, procedures, and standards that guide Airmen’s actions within the profession of arms.
