ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE Okla. -- Master Sgt. Darrin McClure listens to his radio for emergency response exercise updates. The 97th Air Mobility Wing is responsible for the formal training of all C-17 and KC-135 for active duty, Guard and Reserve aircrews. The wing’s world-class instructors receive students from Undergraduate Pilot Training, the Basic Boom Operator Course, and Basic Loadmaster course, and train them to operate C-17 and KC-135 aircraft in combat as well as other worldwide contingencies.
