  • Tech Training Transformation modernizes tech training with virtual reality

    Futuristic training, the kind of immersive simulations seen in sci-fi TV shows, is no longer a fictional dream. It’s almost here. With the Tech Training Transformation (T3) team’s creation of a virtual reality (VR) training system coordinated by artificial intelligence (AI), Air Education and Training Command officials are transforming the Airmen development process. At the forefront of this development stand the cruxes of modern technology, high completion rates and an agile speed of learning.
  • AETC Innovators invited to attend virtual iSummit July 29, 2021

    To fuel collaboration among Air Education and Training Command Airmen, HQ AETC is hosting its next virtual innovation summit (iSummit) on July 29 from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. central time. The purpose of the iSummit is to improve collaboration between innovators by providing AETC Airmen a platform to share information on innovative activities. Gen Brown, the 22nd Chief of Staff of the Air Force, declared on Aug 31 2020, “Only through collaboration within and throughout will we succeed.” The iSummit’s focus on collaboration strives to advance the CSAF’s strategic goal of Accelerate Change or Lose.
  • Training the modern world

    In late 2018, the need for a commercial wireless internet system was identified as an emerging requirement by the Air Education Training Command to help expand learning opportunities for Airmen in training in and out of the classroom. The Learning Wi-Fi Service was identified as the solution and a proof of concept was operated at Keesler in early 2019. “The cybersecurity restrictions that are present on the Air Force Network made it impossible for students to get on the cloud and access training material outside of the classroom,” said Antonio Jo Matheu, 81st Communications Squadron chief technology officer. “The Learning Wi-Fi service provides commercial wireless internet to students, so they’re able to access their course curriculum from their personal devices.”
  • 49th CMS showcase maintenance innovation

    In line with the U.S. Air Force’s encouragement to inspire innovation, the 49th Component Maintenance Squadron developed an innovative solution to maintain readiness by continually providing and maintaining operational engines.
