Chief Master Sergeant Scott J. Berge is the Command Chief Master Sergeant for the 33rd Fighter Wing, Eglin AFB, Fla. He is responsible for providing enlisted leadership to the wing which supports the F-35 A/B/C Lightning II flying and maintenance training for the Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force and eight international partners. The wing is also responsible for all Air Force Air Battle Manager training at Tyndall AFB, Fla. and an Intelligence Formal Training Unit at Hurlburt Field, Fla. When fully equipped, the 33rd FW may operate up to approximately 60 F-35s assigned to two flying squadrons. The unique nature of this fighter wing accommodates service specific requirements in a non-traditional Air Force fighter wing structure.
Chief Berge grew up in a proud Air Force Family and entered the Air Force in September 1986. His background includes numerous leadership roles and special senior noncommissioned officer positions to include First Sergeant and Group Superintendent. He began his career as a Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory Specialist. In 1997, he retrained to become an Optometric Technician and was selected in 2002 to become a First Sergeant. Prior to his current assignment, Chief Berge served as the Command Chief Master Sergeant for the 501st Combat Support Wing, FAF Alconbury, United Kingdom.
