Continuum of Learning: Blended Learning
Blended learning is a combination of learning modes: self-paced, individual learning, facilitated and un-facilitated online learning, different educational technologies to include simulations, games and interactive applications, collaborative learning with other learners and traditional face-to-face experiences. The Continuum of Learning initiative is a shift to better focus how Airmen learn by integrating education, training and experience in ways that allow them to learn anytime, anywhere throughout their careers. Continuum of Learning: Modular Learning
Airmen are offered learning in small packets and can choose individual modules based on their needs. Continuum of Learning: Airman's Learning Record
The Airman's Learning Record is a comprehensive and complete record of all learning Airmen achieve during the course of their career. The ALR will provide a "one-stop shop" to record all learning, whether it occurs in a specialized training/education program, on the job, or off duty. The Continuum of Learning initiative is a shift to better focus how Airmen learn by integrating education, training and experience in ways that allow them to learn anytime, anywhere throughout their careers. Continuum of Learning: Competency-Based Learning
Competenct-based learning is an outcomes-based approach that gives credit to Airmen in the form of a certification or badge for the skills and knowledge they have demonstrated in performance. The Continuum of Learning initiative is a shift to better focus how Airmen learn by integrating education, training and experience in ways that allow them to learn anytime, anywhere throughout their careers. On-command is Air Force-required learning to achieve a lever of expertise. On-demand is self-initiated learning Airmen seek out to achieve personal and professional goals.
