McKenzie Kane, 50th Flying Training Squadron Instructor pilot, has been designing an application over the past year to display such information called AF Status. AF Status is now being used to replace a dated process to disseminate pre-flight information within the squadron.

    The challenge, which launched in February 2020, focused on identifying time-consuming tasks that provide the least direct value to generating combat effects; proposing innovative solutions to streamline current processes through the novel application of technology; and partnering directly with Headquarters Air Force to bring Airmen’s voices to ongoing efforts, including solution-generation and beta-testing of cutting-edge technologies that return time to Airmen.

  • 81st TRG hosts Mock Tech Expo

    In preparation for the Air Education and Training Command Technology Expo, the 81st Training Group held a Mock Tech Expo at Roberts Maintenance Facility, here on Jan. 27. The expo had booths set up for nine different projects. A demonstration for each project was  conducted as 81st TRG and 81st Training Wing leadership walked through.
  • Fresno State AFROTC wins teaching innovation award, other detachments fighting through COVID-19

    California State University, Fresno selected AFROTC Detachment 035 as the recipient of its fall 2020 Provost’s Award for Extraordinary Teaching in Extraordinary Times in the category of Innovative Teaching. The university announced the award on Dec. 22, 2020.
  • Eglin fire idea reaches 2021 Innovation Rodeo finals
