Master Sgt. Andrew Rodriguez, 47th Logistics Readiness Flight Supply Contracting Officer Representative superintendent, is a second generation Mexican-American who grew up in San Antonio, Texas. He entered active duty on June 10, 1992; upon arriving to Laughlin AFB Rodriquez served as a first sergeant and currently is the superintendent for the 47 LRF.

Rodriquez was asked why did he join the Air Force and what advice can he give others?

1. I wanted to broaden my horizons in all aspects and be the example kids could look up to.

2. It was an opportunity to create an adventure and experience cultures other people read about.

3. The need to exceed and carry on my father's legacy who served in the Army.

4. No matter what I do or where I am stationed, I will always revert back to my roots.

5. I want other young people not just Hispanics to know you're responsible for what you know and have experienced.

"One last thing it sounds cliché but it falls in line with my duty titles, always remember the pen is mightier than the sword," said Rodriquez.
