U.S. Air Force partners with academia, industry to test future pilot production model
U.S. Air Force 2nd Lt. Steven Schnoblen, University of North Dakota Aerospace Foundation student pilot, prepares his aircraft for flight, Jan. 7, 2025, in Mesa, Arizona. Air Education and Training Command has partnered with the University of North Dakota Aerospace Foundation to test a new Initial Pilot Training model that enables students to earn essential certifications such as a private pilot’s license, instrument rating, and multi-engine rating.
