How one Airman overcame barriers to reach uncommon heights

During an Air Force Officer Training School commissioning ceremony, Sept. 29, 2022, at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama, 2nd Lt. Christopher Stuebbe (center) returns a salute from Tech. Sgt. Andrew Charvat (right). Charvat was Stuebbe’s recruiter when he enlisted in 2013 and Stuebbe asked him to attend the ceremony and be part of the “first salute” tradition. Stuebbe credits Charvat for helping him overcome an initial barrier that led to numerous feats that including his commission and selection for the Special Warfare career field.
