“Why are you guys here?” Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force Kaleth O. Wright asked the first-ever Air Force Element Senior Enlisted Leader Conference at the Pentagon. More than 50 senior leaders from across U.S. combatant commands and the Joint Staff responded with answers ranging from networking to developing leaders—and they were correct.

The Air Force has selected 472 senior master sergeants for promotion to chief master sergeant out of 2,142 eligible for a selection rate of 22.04 percent in the 17E9 promotion cycle.  The average overall score for those selected was 486.71. The Air Force has chosen 305 Airmen to move forward with the selection process to become enlisted remotely piloted aircraft pilots.
