Air Force leaders announced the service will move to a single combat utility uniform, adopting the Operational Camouflage Pattern, or OCP, already in use by the Army and Airmen in combat zones and in certain jobs across the Air Force.

Joint Base San Antonio graphic. T-X to replace T-38 at pilot training bases
The Air Force announced Feb. 21, 2018, that the Advanced Pilot Trainer (T-X) will replace T-38C Talon aircraft at existing undergraduate pilot training bases, with Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph named as the preferred location for the first T-X aircraft scheduled to arrive in 2022.

The Air Force has selected Truax Field Air National Guard Base, Wisconsin and Dannelly Field, Alabama as the preferred locations for the next two Air National Guard F-35A bases.

The Air Force announced another milestone under the chief of staff’s number two focus area: Strengthening Joint Leaders and Teams. Airmen deploying on individual taskings will now deploy in teams of three or more. This move will provide mutual support during the entire deployment continuum. This directive, effective Nov. 30, 2017, is referred to as “Deployed Teaming.”
