    A winter weather event moved across much of North Texas Feb. 5, 2020, dropping several inches of snow. While not the 7-9 inches forecast, the accumulation was enough for Sheppard AFB leadership to suspend training Feb. 5 and parts of Feb. 6.

  • Gunderson becomes 3rd ENJJPT grad to lead F-22 Demo Team

    U.S. Air Force Maj. Josh Gunderson takes over as the new F-22 Demonstration Team pilot and commander, Jan. 21, 2020, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va. Gunderson, who goes by the callsign “Cabo,” will lead the 14-member demo team for both the 2020 and 2021 show seasons.

  • GAF chief of staff returns to place where flying career began

    German air force Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Ingo Gerhertz earned his wings as a graduate of the 80th Flying Training Wing’s Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training Program in the late 1980s and returned Dec. 13, 2019, to visit program, graduation.

  • Safety program IDs 159 vehicles with recalls during review

    The 82nd Training Wing Safety Office hosted a team from the National Safety Council’s “Check To Protect” Campaign in November, a first in the Air Force. Of the 700 vehicles scanned, 159 total safety recalls were discovered.

  • California Airman aces 15-block AGE course at Sheppard AFB

    Airman Ryan D. Elmer, from Santa Rosa, California, achieved perfect scores in the 361st Training Squadron's aerospace ground equipment apprentice course during the 15 blocks of instruction that spanned 87 training days. He graduated Nov. 27, 2019.

  • Sheppard AFB instructors provide support roles to Luke AFB fighter jets

    The 88th Fighter Training Squadron, which is part of the 80th Flying Training Wing’s Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training Program, provided adversary support to a mix of F-35 and F-16 squadrons assigned to the 56th Fighter Wing at Luke AFB, Arizona, during a two-week exercise in Arizona.

    Leadership at Sheppard AFB served up some hot plates of mouthwatering holiday staples at the Tumbleweed Dining Facility Nov. 28, 2019. Thousands of Airmen, Soldiers, Sailors and Marines as wells as family members and other guests filed through the dining facility during the annual event.
