The time is near. The Thunder Over the Sound: Keesler and Biloxi Air and Space Show begins with the arrival of the star aerial performers, the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, May 2 at the Combat Readiness Training Center in Gulfport, Mississippi.

This year’s air show is a joint effort with Keesler Air Force Base and the city of Biloxi. The event will take place May 4 – 5, 2019. In the morning, there will be static aircraft displays and aerial performances on base. In the afternoon, there will be more aerial performances including the Thunderbirds, who will perform over the water in Biloxi.

"We are really just getting started for our show season and we are super excited to begin at a unique over-the-water beach show here in the Gulf Coast," expressed Capt. Michelle Curran, #6 Opposing Solo Thunderbird. " This show allows our crowd to see various unique perspectives of the performance that our crowds don't normally see when they are confined to an airfield. This is a great air show to come out and see over the weekend."

It is open to the community to get a glimpse of the flying and historical missions of the Air Force. The air show will include aerial acts from the Twin Tigers-Yak-55, the Wild Blue Rodeo- RV-8A and Alabama Boys- Decathlon &Cub along with eight other acts. There will be 12 statics on base that will include the AH-1 Cobra helicopter, WC-130J Hurricane Hunter and the HH-60 Pave Hawk helicopter.

"There is definitely a shock factor when you see the show and the six jets lined up, but our real mission with these shows is to recruit, retain and inspire," explained Curran. "We hope to spread the message that whatever your dreams and goals are in life that you approach them with full force."

The City of Biloxi and Keesler are looking forward to providing an awesome and exciting experience to the community on the Gulf Coast. Come out and see what all the hype is all about. Time for the Thunder Over the Sound!
