JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas — Junior ROTC cadets who participated in the 2019 JROTC Flight Academy had an opportunity to speak with AETC commander Lt. Gen. Brad Webb Aug. 17 at the Air, Space & Cyber Conference hosted by the Air Force Association.

The JROTC Flight Academy took place at 11 different universities across the nation this year, with 45% of the 122 participating cadets being female or minorities.

“Diversity and inclusion is a war-fighting imperative....we need your ideas to help us in this era of great power competition,” Webb told the cadets.

The Air Force JROTC Flight Academy is an approximately 8-week summer aviation training program, conducted at partnering universities nationwide. Upon successful completion of the program, students are awarded a Private Pilot’s Certification.  The Flight Academy is intended to inspire and encourage high school youth toward aviation careers.
