Goodfellow base commander declares Health Protection Condition Bravo Published March 19, 2020 By Aryn Lockhart 17th Training Wing Public Affairs GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- The Goodfellow Air Force Base commander has directed Health Protection Condition (HPCON) Bravo in response to COVID-19. In addition to all HPCON Alpha actions, HPCON Bravo includes the following actions: Strict hygiene (No handshaking, wipe common-use items) If exposed, self-isolate (Wear mask or remain home) Avoid contaminated water/food or risk areas Communicate personal risk and symptoms Follow social distancing procedures (avoid large gatherings, keeping six feet distance from others) HPCON B measures are mandatory for all Goodfellow service members and are highly encouraged for DoD civilian, contractor employees and family members. These measures are required to ensure the continued health and safety of our community. Currently there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 at Goodfellow AFB. “Our guiding principles from day one are your health and your safety. That has always been our guiding principles and will continue to be our guiding principles,” said Col. Andres Nazario, 17th Training Wing commander.
