First Faces: Christine Bushby Published April 2, 2013 JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas -- This week's First Faces selectee is Christine Bushby, 42nd Force Support Squadron unit readiness and mortuary technician, Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala. Bushby, a native of Hamilton, Ohio, has been a funeral director for more than 15 years. Her job entails making handprints of the deceased, writing obituaries and caring for families of lost loved ones. The day after Bushby graduated from Mortuary College, she gave birth to a son who died nine days later. This tragedy allows her to empathize with families and help them through their grief. "We only get one opportunity to do this right for our families and they deserve our very best, regardless of the circumstances," she said. "This is someone's son or daughter, some child's parent, and I will do what I can to make a difference one day, one person at a time."
