First Faces: 1st Lt. Tyson Hyer Published March 22, 2013 JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas -- This week's First Faces selectee is 1st Lt. Tyson Hyer, an instructor pilot assigned to the 80th Flying Training Wing at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas. The Mesa, Ariz., native earned his wings through Euro-Nato Joint Jet Pilot Training class 11-08. His involvement in the program helps foster international relations while training side-by-side with NATO pilots from around the world. A testament to his ability as an instructor pilot, Hyer is consistently chosen by students to pin on their wings during the graduation ceremony. In his free time, 1Lt Hyer is a scoutmaster for a local Boy Scout troop. He also holds the distinction of Eagle Scout.
