The Air Education and Training Command Logistics Compliance Assessment Program team had no major findings for the 82nd Training Wing during a week-long inspection, resulting in a satisfactory rating.

Lt. Col. James Humes, LCAP inspection team lead, said it is highly unusual for a wing to go through an assessment such as the LCAP and not have any major findings.

"LCAP is designed to be a very difficult inspection," Colonel Humes said. "Our methodology was to come in and do performance-based evaluations."

The colonel went on to say that about half of the inspections conducted throughout the week were over-the-shoulder assessments that are tougher for the unit, but provide a better understanding of people within the wing and a good idea of where the organization stands.

The team conducted more than 1,900 inspections with zero major findings. Approximately 150 findings were recorded, while the team had 13 observations.

"Your organization is spot on," Colonel Humes said, reiterating the difficulty of the inspection. "Sheppard can be very proud of what they've done."

Brig. Gen. Darryl W. Burke, 82nd TRW commander, thanked the colonel and his team for their hard work and professionalism. Then he turned his attention to group commanders and the people of Sheppard AFB who worked for the rating.

"I know this was a tough inspection. (It was) deep; hard looking," he said, adding that the wing has been "under the gun" since preparing for January's Unit Compliance Inspection. "Every time we see these (inspections), we find issues we need to look at.

"Thank you for the hard work and preparation," he said. "This inspection will make us better."

Since none of the items identified by the LCAP team were major findings, the 82nd TRW will not have to report solutions to AETC. All minor findings can be solved at the wing level.
