U.S. Army Staff Sgt. (Ret.) Shilo Harris, is fitted for prosthetic ears at MacKown Dental Clinic, Wilford Hall Medical Center, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, Oct. 5. A wax model of the ear is first molded to ensure proper placement and fit before applying the prosthetic. The Maxillofacial Prosthetics Department at WHMC employs a team that deals with the rehabilitation of patients with acquired and congenital defects of the head and neck region.
