Laughlin members engaged in an effort to assist those affected by the recent flooding as a result of Hurricane Alex.

The Top Three Association, a private organization comprised of enlisted members master sergeant and above, and the Laughlin Chapel coordinated a disaster relief drive to collect canned goods, diapers, water, food, utensils and clothes to offer to the victims of the flooding in their time of need, said Master Sgt. Miguel Ramirez, Laughlin Top 3 president.

More than 100 families in the Del Rio Texas area, and many more along the Rio Grande River were affected by large-scale flooding that has taken place. Many people have even faced a mandatory evacuation of the area.

"The main goal of the drive is to help out our Del Rio family and Ciudad Acuna neighbors that are being affected by the recent floods, and are in desperate need of help," Sergeant Ramirez said. "Families on both sides of the border that need assistance will benefit from all the donations.

"This ongoing effort, in my opinion, is just the right thing to do and our Air Force family has really come together to provide the much needed support to our extended Del Rio family and neighbors across the border," he added.
