It was a typical training day as Airmen sat in class and worked at their trainers...except they were working under studio lighting with cameras reeling to capture the incredible story that happens at Sheppard every day.

A team of 20 personnel from Air Force Recruiting Service spent May 3 - 7 filming and interviewing Sheppard instructors and Airmen in Training to update the Air Force recruiting website, www.airforce.com, with pictures and video of technical training courses and base quality of life services.

From aerospace ground equipment maintainers to biomedical equipment technicians, crew chiefs to environmental specialists, the video team caught on film the training and preparation required to conduct Air Force operations worldwide and the incredible opportunities that we as Air Force members are given.

Instructors and AiT from across the base stepped up to tell their stories, dreams and plans to the visiting camera crew. The crew sat in on classroom lectures, hands-on training, final formation, an intramural soccer game and a round of skeet shooting in order to tell the story of life on base during tech training.

"It is awesome to educate (potential recruits) on what they will be going through since I am going through it," said Airman 1st Class Luis Santos, an AGE trainee interviewed by the Air Force Recruiting Service's video team.

Airman Santos said that it is easier for recruits to relate to an AiT than it is for them to relate to an authority figure. He was eager to help with the project because he said he joined to help people, and sharing his stories with new recruits is a perfect way to do that.

Sheppard was the first of four Air Force bases that the team will visit. The remaining bases are Lackland AFB, Keesler AFB and Goodfellow AFB. Look for the videos and pictures to be posted on www.airforce.com in the next four to six months.
