JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO – RANDOLPH, Texas – In the ongoing effort to gain a command-wide view of innovation activities, AETC Analysis and Innovation Directorate requests AETC Airmen provide insight on all current innovation projects. This Semi-Annual Innovation Activities Data Call will run until May 29.

New this year, instead of sending out a massive spreadsheet, AETC Analysis and Innovation Directorate is leveraging the Air Force’s ideation platform known as IdeaScale. This change will streamline the data collection process to make it easy for Airmen to update and add new innovation records.

“The move to IdeaScale as our data collection mechanism will create a common AETC innovation repository for Airmen to enter their innovations, whatever the driver be it Spark Tank, iChallenge, Tech Tuesday, or anything else. Connected to the AETC Innovation Dashboard, it will provide AETC leaders a clear site-picture of the AETC innovation landscape,” said AETC Director of Analysis and Innovation Col. Leonard Rose.

The IdeaScale data will be used by the AETC Analysis and Innovation Directorate to: analyze and assess the scope of innovation activities across AETC; identify opportunities for collaboration; and achieve synergies of effort in innovation activities.

It will also expand the innovation ecosystem to further support AETC units currently using ecosystem data to execute and fuel their innovation activities.  Additionally, it will align and synchronize AETC innovation efforts and capabilities to foster deliberate action to blaze innovation paths to achieve AETC strategic priorities and improve core capabilities.

“Moreover,” added Chief of the AETC Innovation Advancement Division Chris Adams, “it will allow the AETC Analysis and Innovation Directorate team to connect AETC Airmen with the resources they need to take their projects from idea to innovation.”
