SNCO Professional Development Seminar set for July 21-24

The Maxwell-Gunter "Top-3" organization will host the Senior Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Seminar, or PDS, July 21-24, 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Gunter NCO Academy auditorium, Bldg. 1143. 

A Senior NCO Induction Banquet will be held July 24, 6 to 10 p.m. at Gunter's Falcon's Nest. 

The primary objective of the PDS is to broaden the knowledge base of the newest SNCOs. The course focuses on areas that are critical to enhancing the effectiveness of enlisted leaders. 

These areas include mentorship, manpower, team building, personnel systems and enlisted force development.  Each lesson will be taught by subject matter experts and seasoned enlisted leaders.

Another objective is to impress upon the promotees the importance of valuing and preserving the SNCO tier. Acceptance of this challenge is paramount to their gaining the trust and loyalty of their subordinates as well as the respect and confidence of their superiors. 

The seminar is considered a mandatory event for all newly selected master sergeants. SNCOs who were unable to attend his or her own program last year is encouraged to attend this year.
