AETC announces 2008 American Legion Spirit of Service Award Published April 22, 2008 RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Air Education and Training Command officials recently announced Staff Sgt. Kristi M. Jordan, 365th Training Squadron, Sheppard AFB, Texas, as the AETC winner for the 2008 American Legion Spirit of Service Award. This award annually recognizes enlisted members (Airman through staff sergeant), from each of the military services, for outstanding volunteer service performed off duty in the local community. Sergeant Jordan's accomplishments included commitment in the local school book fair, Veteran's Day parade and food pantry. Sergeant Jordan volunteered more than 50 hours to the 82nd Training Wing's Airmen Against Drunk Driving program by providing 860-plus Airmen a safe ride home. She also single-handedly collected more than 50 warm blankets for the local mission as well as devoting numerous hours to her pastoral staff. She will now compete at the Air Force-level competition.
