Senate confirms General Lorenz for fourth star, to command AETC Published March 14, 2008 By Tech. Sgt. Mike Hammond Air Education and Training Command Public Affairs RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- The U.S. Senate has confirmed Lt. Gen. Stephen R. Lorenz for appointment to the grade of general and assignment as commander of Air Education and Training Command. General Lorenz, currently the commander of Air University at Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala., will replace Gen. William R. Looney III, who will retire this summer after leading the command since June 2005. The Senate also confirmed Maj. Gen. Allen G. Peck for a third star and to succeed General Lorenz as Air University commander. General Peck is currently the vice commander of Air University and the commander of the Air Force Doctrine Development and Education Center at Maxwell AFB, Ala. Change of command ceremonies are being planned for this summer, with dates to be announced.
