Altus AFB conducts Easter sunrise service in C-5 Published April 10, 2007 By Michael Fletcher 97th Air Mobility Wing ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Two hundred early risers attended the Altus Air Force Base Easter Sunrise Service, April 8, in a C-5A Galaxy with the open ramp turned toward the rising sun. The participants braved 35-degree morning temperature to participate in the annual event. This is the last year for the event in a Galaxy, as the C-5 aircrew training mission is moving to Lackland AFB, Texas, and the last Altus AFB C-5 will depart in July.
