Joint Base San Antonio – Randolph, Texas –  An Air University Fellow at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama, is the next force generator to take over AETC’s Instagram account Jan. 20, 2022.

Lt. Col. Aaron Knight, has been an AU Fellow for nearly two years. He is an A-10 pilot with previous assignments at Osan Air Base, South Korea, and Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona.

“Full disclosure, I had reservations when I first learned I was selected to become an AU Fellow, but this opportunity has been professionally and personally rewarding more than I ever anticipated,” Knight said. “I have been able to focus on my education, experience being an instructor at Air Command and Staff College and keep my family in one location this whole time.”

Once a month, an instructor from across AETC will take over the AETC Instagram account for a behind-the-scenes look into the day and the life of a force generator at one of AETC’s installations. The takeover is part of an AETC campaign to highlight developmental special duty assignments and the importance of these positions to the Air Force and AETC’s priority of valuing force generators.

“Becoming an AU Fellow is an amazing opportunity to experience in-resident professional military education and gain invaluable instructor experience in educating our future force, all while providing assignment stability for themselves and their families ” said Lt. Gen. James B. Hecker, Air University commander and president. “PME and force generator experience are highly valued in the Air Force to develop, educate and mentor the multi-capable Airman and Guardians we need.”
