The Great Texas Airshow kicked off today at 9 a.m. at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas.

During this two-day event, aerial performances and displays demonstrate the pride, precision and professionalism the U.S. military represents. Visitors also have opportunities to see a STEM expo, kids’ zone and many other exciting and educational exhibits that highlight the world’s most technologically advanced Air and Space Force capabilities.

“‘Service in action’ is our theme so we’re excited to bring tons of static displays, tons of aerial performers. We have the Thunderbirds, we have the Marine Corps F-35, the Air Force F-35, and all kinds of demonstrations out here at JBSA-Randolph,” said Brig. Gen. Russell “Dirk” Driggers, Joint Base San Antonio and 502nd Air Base Wing commander. “Folks from all over the community have come together to put this airshow together.”

This free event is open to the public and features the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, F-35A Lightning II, U.S. Air Force Academy Wings of Blue Parachute Team, and many more. All are welcome to interact with available aircrews and service personnel to ask questions and hear their stories.

The airshow gates are open at 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. today and tomorrow. Aerial acts begin at 11 a.m. both days. Flight times for specific aerial acts are unavailable due to ongoing changes in aircraft postures and weather conditions.

“Come on out and join us at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph for The Great Texas Airshow," Driggers said.
