AETC modernizes training management through Envision platform transition

Air Education and Training Command officials will retire the Air Force’s myTraining system and transition to a new platform in Envision, aligning with Department of the Air Force (DAF) digital modernization and enterprise learning guidance.

The transition to Training Business Area 2.0, or TBA 2.0, is scheduled for completion by Summer 2026 and will streamline training data management, reduce sustainment costs, and enhance readiness reporting through the DAF’s Envision platform.

“This transition reflects our commitment to efficiency, interoperability, and the enduring readiness of the force,” said Col. Ryan J. Vetter, AETC Deputy Director of Operations and Communications. “By moving training management to the Envision environment, we’re delivering a more resilient, data-driven foundation for Airmen and Guardians.”

“The legacy system’s limited integration and high sustainment demands made it costly and unsustainable for long-term use,” said Danielle Nicholson, AETC Learning Services Division’s Chief Technology Officer. “Transitioning to an enterprise approach reduces expenses, simplifies operations, and enables data-driven readiness reporting that is available at every level of command.”

“Beyond reducing sustainment costs, the shift is expected to improve the Airman and Guardian experience by modernizing the interface, reducing administrative workload, and enabling faster access to accurate, actionable training data,” said Senior Master Sgt. Jessica Griffin, AETC Learning Services Division’s Senior Enlisted Leader.

The decision was made at AETC as the designated authority for upgrade skill-level training systems following extensive collaboration with Headquarters Air Force Manpower, Personnel, and Services Directorate (AF/A1D), the office responsible for on-the-job training data.

Both organizations agreed to migrate all upgrade skill-level training functions to TBA 2.0, an application already implemented by Career Field Managers across multiple Air Force Specialty Codes (AFSCs). This is a direct result of applying customer feedback and system preference while also aligning with efficiency efforts and the Department’s strategic direction to ensure accurate, accessible training data.
