Airman's Time 47th Radar, Airfield, and Weather Systems (RAWS) Flight Aug. 7, 2026

LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- The 47th Flying Training Wing command team visited the 47th Operations Support Squadron's Radar, Airfield, and Weather Systems (RAWS) Flight during Airman’s Time at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas, Aug. 4, 2026

The session gave the U.S. Air Force Col. Eric Bissonette, 47th Flying Training Wing commander, an opportunity to learn about RAWS Operations and climb a radio tower.

Home to the Air Force's largest Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems ground-to-air radio portfolio, Laughlin relies on RAWS to install, maintain, and repair the antennas and infrastructure that keep pilots and air traffic controllers in constant communication.

Airman’s Time provides opportunities for professional development, mentorship and cross-functional learning across the wing.
