Altus Airmen compete in sprint triathlon Published Aug. 26, 2026 By Senior Airman Jonah Bliss 97th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- The 97th Force Support Squadron hosted a sprint triathlon at Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma, Aug. 22, 2026. The event consisted of a 750-meter swim, 20-kilometer bike, and 5- kilometer run. “Here at Altus we are getting after a culture of fitness so we can ensure that victory begins here,” said U.S. Air Force Maj. Aaron Jones, 97th FSS commander.“Building physical and mental stamina across the wing guarantees that when our mobility forces are called upon, we deliver ready, capable warriors to the fight.”
