JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-FORT SAM HOUSTON, Texas – Maj. Gen. Byron C. Hepburn, San Antonio Military Health System director and 59th Medical Wing commander, welcomes the honorable Jessica L. Wright, Acting Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness, to the San Antonio Military Medical Center July 17 at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston. Wright took a tour of SAMMC, visiting with wounded warriors and attended a meeting on the Integrated Disability Evaluation System (IDES). Wright, Acting Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness, recognizes outstanding medical staff members July 17 during a visit to the San Antonio Military Medical Center at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston. Wright is deputy senior policy advisor to the Secretary of Defense on recruitment, career development, pay and benefits for 1.4 million active-duty military personnel, 1.3 million Guard and Reserve personnel, 680,000 Defense Department civilians.
