In celebration of the NFL's Pro Bowl and Super Bowl events, Luke Air Force Base has teamed up with several organizations to plan the following events, highlighting the Air Force leading up to the Super Bowl Feb. 1.

- Jan. 21 NFL PLAY 60: Held at Luke Elementary School, NFL PLAY 60 is the NFL's campaign to encourage kids to be active for 60 minutes a day in order to help reverse the trend of childhood obesity. The event is closed to students not attending Luke Elementary School.

- Jan. 22 NFL Pro Bowl Practice: Held at the Luke Air Force Base track and football field near the South Gate, Team Carter, led by Hall of Fame wide receiver, Cris Carter, is scheduled to practice from 10 to 11 a.m. The second practice for Team Irvin is scheduled to run from 12:10 to 1:10 p.m. and will be led by Hall of Fame wide receiver and career Dallas Cowboy, Michael Irvin. An autograph and picture session will follow each practice. Maximum capacity is 1,500 and the venue will be closed to further spectators if that total is reached to ensure the safety of fans, players, coaches and staff. If you would like to attend this event, register at this link: lukeprobowl.questionpro.com. Registration will close Tuesday. Registration is helpful to event organizers, but not a requirement to attend. The practice is open to all Defense Department ID cardholders.

- Jan. 25 Pro Bowl: The first-ever F-35 Lightning II joint strike fighter flyover at a sporting event is scheduled for the Pro Bowl at the University of Phoenix Stadium. The 61st Fighter Squadron will perform the flyover and the game will be on ESPN. It is scheduled to take place at 6 p.m. local time. Pre-game ceremonies will include a Joint Color Guard of service members across Arizona, including Luke Airmen.

- Jan. 29 Youth Football Camp: This camp will be held at the Luke track and football field near the South Gate from 5 to 8 p.m. The event is scheduled to feature Washington Redskins wide receiver Andre Roberts. The camp is open to children of DOD ID cardholders in kindergarten through 8th grade. - Jan. 30 VH1 Concert: The concert will be held at the 944th Fighter Wing's Hangar 999. The concert will run live on VH1 and bands scheduled to perform include Fall Out Boy and Charli XCX. The one-hour concert will occur near sunset; exact times will be announced next week. All DOD ID cardholders are welcome on a first come-first served basis. Service members, regardless of branch, are asked to wear a camouflage-equivalent uniform.

- Jan. 31 Westgate Concert: A free music concert featuring the Air Force Band Max Impact will run from 6 to 10 p.m. at Westgate's WaterDance Plaza near the Arizona Coyote's Gila River Arena.

"The Pro Bowl and Super Bowl give us the opportunity to reach out to not just a valley or state-wide audience, but a U.S. and international audience in a way that we normally don't get to do," said Capt. Ryan DeCamp, 56th Fighter Wing, Pro Bowl and Super Bowl Public Affairs project officer. "More than 111 million Americans watched last year's Super Bowl and it was shown in over 180 countries. This year's game allows us to show everyone at home who we are as an Air Force, what we do and what we bring to the table to protect American citizens and our way of life around the world."
