Air Education and Training Command’s A9 Directorate released a new Airman professionalism video February 9, 2015, as part of a new series of videos titled “Heritage Today.”

The first video, “Oath of Service,” is available for viewing at www.airman.af.mil, and reminds Airmen “The Oath is the bond that brings all Airmen together.”

“As a service, we maintain the trust of our nation by daily integrating our core values into mission accomplishment and infusing professionalism into everything we do,” said Col. Jeff Smith, AETC director of studies, analysis and assessments. “Heritage Today videos do just this by using the enabler characteristics of commitment, loyalty, and trust as the building blocks of professionalism.”

The Heritage Today series was also designed to inspire Airmen through stories of Air Force heritage linked to current real-world Air Force operations. Dan Woolever, Heritage Today program manager, said each video is created to promote critical thinking and group discussion.

The message is even delivered by Airmen. The Oath of Service voice over was from Master Sgt. Jason Seibel, a Security Forces team member in AETC.

There are five more Heritage Today videos for 2015, and each runs between two and three minutes, said Woolever. Another video, “Commitment,” will be released later this week followed by video themes of “Selflessness, Mutual Respect, Trust, and Excellence” in late spring.
