Altus AFB completes its first UEI Published Aug. 31, 2015 By Senior Airman Dillon Davis 97th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Altus AFB received an overall "Effective" rating on its first Unit Effectiveness Inspection Aug. 10-15. The UEI replaced the Air Force's Consolidated Unit Inspection in order to reduce costs associated with travelling inspection teams, as well as ensure continual mission readiness and unit compliance with the U.S. Air Force regulations and standards. The inspection team consisted of 57 inspectors and support personnel trained to accurately assess and record inspection findings and results during the inspection process. "The inspection team used a 5-tier grading scale and validated the unit's discipline, effectiveness, efficiency, readiness, and compliance using standards set forth in AFI 90-201," said U.S. Air Force Senior Master Sgt. Matthew Thrune, 97th Air Mobility Wing Office of the Inspector General superintendent. The Air Education and Training Command Inspector General team evaluated the 97th using four major graded areas: Managing Resources, Leading People, Improving the Unit, and Executing the Mission. Altus AFB received and "Effective" rating in the first three major graded areas and received a "Highly effective" rating in Executing the Mission. "Airmen exhibited a high level of professionalism and understanding of their unit's primary mission and overall impact to the Air Force," according to notes pulled from the inspection report. The report also noted that the wing had 111 superior performers throughout the inspection process. "The wing continues to produce high-quality graduates for the Air Force in all crew positions," the report stated. "The quality of the instructor force, student training, and all associated documentation reflects a high degree of attention to detail."
