Daniello and Airman 1st Class Mackenzie Richardson 92nd Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. -- Air Education and Training Command civic leaders, accompanied by Lt. Gen. Darryl Roberson, AETC commander, visited the Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape school here Sept. 29. During the tour, SERE specialists provided details on how they teach skills vital to personnel at high risk of isolation or capture. The AETC civic leaders watched parachute operations as well as hoist demonstrations by the 36th Rescue Squadron's personnel. The importance of medics were also showcased as they prepped a simulated wounded mannequin for recovery by a UH-1N Iroquois helicopter. Civic leader tours are designed increase civic leaders' understanding of operations, training and the Air Force's role in national security.
