Laughlin AFB instructor pilot court-martialed Published Nov. 17, 2015 19th Air Force Public Affairs LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- A General Court-Martial Nov. 16 convicted a captain assigned to the 47th Flying Training Wing of engaging in a sexual unprofessional relationship, fraternizing with enlisted personnel, committing adultery, making a false official statement, failing to obey a no-contact order, and obstructing justice, all in violation of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Capt. Christopher J. Hill, a T-6 Texan II Instructor Pilot assigned to the 434th Flying Training Squadron, pleaded guilty to all charges against him before a military judge sitting alone. Pursuant to a Pre-Trial Agreement with the General Court-Martial Convening Authority, Maj. Gen. James Hecker, 19th Air Force commander, Captain Hill had waived his right to a trial by fellow officers. The military judge entered findings of guilty in accordance with Captain Hill’s pleas and sentenced him to a dismissal, three months confinement, and forfeiture of all pay and allowances. The Pre-Trial Agreement will reduce Captain Hill’s confinement to 45 days. "In the pilot training environment, there is nothing more sacred than trust, integrity and the preservation of proper relationships," said Col. Thomas Shank, 47th Flying Training Wing commander. "Any violation of that tenant will be appropriately addressed by our leadership as we strive to train the world's greatest pilots here." The court-martial followed an Air Force Office of Special Investigations examination of misconduct that occurred between 2010 and 2014 at Laughlin; Minot AFB, North Dakota; and Andersen AFB, Guam. During his guilty plea, Captain Hill detailed his adulterous sexual unprofessional relationship with a female student pilot at Laughlin between 2012 and 2014, false official statement to an investigator about their relationship, and disobedience of an order to refrain from contact with the student. Captain Hill also admitted to having sexual intercourse with a female enlisted Senior Airman while deployed to Andersen in 2012 and engaging in sexually-charged communications with two other female enlisted members, a Senior Airman and Staff Sergeant at Minot between 2010 and 2012. Finally, Captain Hill admitted to burying electronic devices containing video and photographic evidence of his unprofessional relationship and fraternization at a hangar located at the Del Rio International Airport.
