Puppy power provides therapy Published April 1, 2016 By Senior Airman Joshua Edwards 17th Training Wing Public Affairs GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- The Concho Kennel Club of San Angelo brought several dogs for a therapy event at the 315th Training Squadron March 30. The dogs are part of an initiative to help intelligence students unwind after a day of class. “A lot of universities are starting to use this concept,” said Master Sgt. Esther N. Duhon, 315th TRS geospatial-intelligence analyst course chief. “Therapy dogs are a great stress reliever for students. They can reduce anxiety and loneliness of some students as well.” One student who visited the event said she enjoyed her time there. “Most of us have dogs back at home and miss our dogs,” said Airman 1st Class Jasmine N. Scott, 315th TRS student. “They say it is a stress reliever and it actually is. It makes me happy to see the dogs.” The CKC plans to visit the 315th TRS once a month to continue to provide a relief to its students.
