EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Marine Corps Maj. Aric Liberman, Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 501 operations officer at the 33rd Fighter Wing, Eglin AFB, Fla., uses the first engine run at Eglin of the F-35B as a training opportunity March 14. He observed the plane captain, known as a crew chief in the Air Force, speak to the pilot during actions to monitor the aircraft's health. Liberman will conduct an engine familiarization and subsequent aircraft taxi later this month. The F-35B is the Marine Corps variant of the Joint Strike Fighter. (U.S. Air Force photo/Maj.
