Proud parents Army Staff Sgt. Mario Perez and wife Dina were surprised to hear their new infant, Laurel Perez, was the last baby to be born at Wilford Hall Medical Center, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas on Aug. 28, 2011. The Hauth Birthing Center, known for its worldwide tertiary referral center and premier tri-service teaching facility, is relocating across town to Fort Sam Houston to a state-of-the art facility.
