Sheppard, Wichita Falls firefighters subdue blazes
SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Firefighters work to contain a wildfire that destroyed three homes near Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, April 15. The base provided 19 firefighters and eight trucks to help battle at least five area wildfires, which were driven by hurricane-force winds and drought conditions. Three homes-one belonging to a Sheppard Airman-were destroyed and the fires forced the evacuation of one of Sheppard's housing areas for several hours. (Courtesy photo)
