80th FTW Commander helps open Call Field Museum

Military pilot training began at Call Field in Wichita Falls during World War I as one of only five air bases in the state of Texas. The Call Field Aviation Museum held its grand opening Oct. 29 featuring guest speaker, Col. Kevin Schneider, 80th Flying Training Wing commander, and the Curtiss JN4-D “Jenny.” The 1916 “Jenny” is one of five remaining airworthy aircraft and flies one Saturday a month at the museum, weather permitting.
