Tech. Sgt. Jean Brooks, 59th Inpatient Operations Group medical technician at Wilford Hall Medical Center, carries a 70-pound backpack, as she prepares to board a C-17 Globemaster III to Angol, Chile, to aid victims affected by an 8.8 magnitude earthquake Feb. 27. Sergeant Brooks is one of 10 Airmen from WHMC joining the Air Force Expeditionary Medical Support team. EMEDS is a rapid, deployable medical team equipped and staffed to provide surgical, primary care and other medical services in field conditions.
