Expeditionary course tests officer candidates

An officer trainee finds a mock improvised explosive device at a coordinate during the basic expeditionary leadership problem solving course Dec. 4, 2013, at Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala. During this course the officer candidate students are each tasked to take lead in solving a problem they would possibly run into in the operational Air Force. In this exercise, the trainee’s team had to securely transfer the device using only the tools available. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Natasha Stannard)
