Airman Basic Kristen McLaughlin, Airmen 1st Class Jacob Curran and Timothy Walden, 363rd Training Squadron Airman in training, Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, witnessed a horrific single car accident Nov. 17, 2013, after eating dinner at a local restaurant in Wichita Falls. McLaughlin, of Copperas Cove, Texas, leapt from the car she was a passenger in and sprinted toward a small pickup truck continuing to twist itself around the large concrete pillars holding the bridge above it up.
