AETC names top performers of 2017
Paul Gentile, Assistant Chief for Fire Protection assigned to the 47th Civil Engineer Squadron at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas, receives the 2017 Supervisory Civilian of the Year Award from Lt. Gen. Steve Kwast, Commander of Air Education and Training Command, during the AETC 12 Outstanding Airmen of the Year Awards banquet, Feb. 22, 2018 in Orlando, Fla. Gentile led the Wing fire prevention program, inspecting 61 facilities, identifying and correcting 46 safety violations and safe guarding 5,700 base personnel, provided vital Emergency Operations Command node during T-38 crash response, integrating with 11 agencies and hastened incident resolution, and oversaw the first-ever Junior Firefighter car show, leading 120 hours preparation and raising $2,500 enabling zero cost for the event.
