The Twenty-Fifth Air Force flag is furled to signify its inactivation, as Gen. Mike Holmes, Air Combat Command commander, and Lt. Gen. Timothy Haugh, Twenty-Fifth Air Force commander, look on during the Sixteenth Air Force assumption of command at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas, Oct. 11, 2019. The Twenty-Fourth Air Force was also inactivated during the ceremony to integrate into the new information warfare numbered air force. Sixteenth Air Force is responsible for providing information warfare capabilities to combatant commanders with the speed to match today’s technological environment.
