An F-35A Lightning II takes off Jan. 6, 2020, at Luke Air Force Base, Ariz. The F-35 is a fifth-generation fighter that combines stealth, sensor fusion and unprecedented situational awareness that enhance its capability to survive in an advanced threat environment. Luke AFB is home to 77 F-16s and 92 F-35s that enable Airmen assigned to the base to train the world’s greatest fighter pilots and combat ready Airmen.
