Four F-35A Lightning IIs, assigned to the 63rd Fighter Squadron, fly in formation during a training sortie over Arizona, Aug. 9, 2019. Flying with a maximum strike weapons configuration creates a heightened sense of awareness for the pilot and allows for a more realistic training experience in the event of flying a combat mission. The implementation of the “Beast Mode” configuration is one of many ways the 56th Fighter Wing is training the world’s greatest fighter pilots and combat ready Airmen. (Courtesy photo by Matt Short)
