56th EMS wheel and tire team: never tired, always rollin’
U.S. Air Force 2nd Lt. Kristin Rowe, 56th Equipment Maintenance Squadron support staff section commander, torques the valve stem on an F-35A Lightning II main wheel hub assembly Oct. 14, 2021, at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona. During the wheel and tire assembly process, Airmen will torque the valve stem 50-60 inch pounds, to ensure there is a tight seal and no air loss on the tire. The wheel and tire shop provides essential and reliable aircraft parts for the F-35A and F-16 Fighting Falcon, supporting the world’s greatest fighter pilots and combat-ready Airmen.
